What is an Apprenticeship Program?

· Work anywhere. You will earn a nationally recognized certificate upon completion of the 3 year program. 


How Do I Get Started?

· You must meet these minimum qualifications:

1. Must be 18 years of age to apply

2. Have a high school diploma or GED certificate

3. Proof of completion on 1 year of high school algebra, integrated math 2 or equivalent post-high school algebra course with a grade of C or better or equivalent math placement test scores or submit a Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) assessment, Silver Level (contact ABC for assessment information)

 Note: Employers may require a pre-employment
substance abuse test and a valid driver’s license.

What Do TAB Professionals Do?

Overview :  TAB technicians inspect, test adjust and balance heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and water distribution systems in buildings.  Using specialized instruments and test equipment they make sure that the air and water systems operate as intended.

Work Activities:

·  Adjusting & testing HVAC air and water systems to the design criteria

· Documenting system performance

· Reading blueprints and specifications

·  Inspecting equipment and HVAC systems to identify possible problems and defects

· Analyzing test data to make recommendations forcorrections

· Using computer software to adjust HVAC controls set points

· Creating reports using specialized computer software

· Communicating with engineers, owners, and team members 


How Much Can I Earn?

· Earn $12.20 per hour to start.

· Advance to $22 per hour—that’s about $46,000
per year—within 3 years.

· Experienced TAB professionals can make
upwards of $55,000 a year.
